Chinese Expert Successfully Elected as Vice Chairman of IECRE Wind Energy Field

  On May 9, the tenth meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission Renewable Energy Equipment Certification Recognition System Wind Subcommittee (IECRE WE-OM) was held in Pretoria, South Africa. On the meeting, Pan Weiping,the IECRE WE-OMC vice-chairman candidate nominated by the Certification and Accreditation Adiminstration(CNCA) and the deputy general manager of Goldwind Sci & Tech Co.,Ltd.Research and Development Center was successfully elected with three-year term (January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022), which embodied the Chinese influence and power in the field of IEC conformity assessment.

  Established in 2014, IECRE is the fourth conformity assessment system of the international electrotechnical commission (IEC). Its purpose is to promote the international trade of renewable energy equipment by establishing and operating a unified certification system based on relevant international standards and promoting the wide acceptance of certification results worldwide. China is a founding member of the IECRE. On behalf of China, the CNCA has joined the wind and solar energy sub-system as a member institution. Chinese experts holding important management positions in this system will be conducive to reflecting and maintaining China's interests in the international conformity assessment rules for renewable energy equipment, facilitating the interaction between China and the world in this field, and creating more favorable conditions for the international development of China's renewable energy industry and related conformity assessment industry.
