Zhang Mao Met with Hernandez,Costa Rica Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade-Promote cooperation in the field of supervision and create a good development environment
On the afternoon of April 23, Zhang Mao, Director of the State Administration for Market Supervision, met with visiting Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica, Ms. Victoria Hernandez Mora. Zhang Mao expressed the hope that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of market supervision and jointly promote the stable development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
Zhang Mao introduced the main functions of the State Administration for Market Supervision and other aspects, including the market supervision laws and regulations system, product quality supervision, standardization, certification and accreditation, and drug price supervision. Zhang Mao said that there are currently about 270 effective laws in China, of which nearly half are implemented by market regulators and the scope of quality and safety supervision covers all stages of production, circulation and consumption. The State Administration of Market Supervision has been carrying out work in various fields in strict accordance with the law,extensively participate in international and regional standardization activities, actively promote international cooperation in the field of certification and accreditation, and supervise and manage drug prices according to law, which has achieved good results.
Zhang Mao said that the current economic and trade exchanges between China and Costa Rica are developing rapidly. The State Administration for Market Supervision is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Costa Rica on the area such as product quality and safety supervision, standardization, certification and conformity assessment, and measurement, promote the communication and interaction of policies and regulations, and participate in and promote international cooperation in related fields to create a good surroundings for bilateral economic and trade relations.
Minister Hernandez introduced the functions of Costa Rica's relevant departments in the field of market regulation. She said that the current cooperation between Costa Rica and China in various fields has created a good business environment for enterprises and promoted the economic development of the two countries. She hoped that both sides will further deepen cooperation and exchanges in the field of market supervision, conduct in-depth dialogue and communication in the fields of laws and regulations, product quality supervision, consumer rights protection, standardization, certification and recognition, and promote the stable development of trade between the two countries.
