Zhang Mao Led a Delegation to Visit Afghanistan, Laos and Mongolia to Deepen Economic and Trade Cooperation and Build "One Belt, One Road" Together

  From December 4th to 13th, Zhang Mao,Director of the State Administration for Market Supervision, led a delegation to visit Afghanistan, Laos and Mongolia. During the visiting, the delegation held talks with the senior government officials of related countries and signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation. The delegation also held a meeting with representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in the visiting countries.

  During the visit to Afghanistan, Zhang Mao met with Afghan CEO Abdullah and held talks with Ms.Camilla Sadici, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on the area of trade, industrial development, business registration, small and micro enterprise development and competition policy. Zhang Mao said that Afghanistan, as an important center of the ancient Silk Road, is Chinese traditional friendly neighbor. It is hoped that the two sides will consolidate and develop the traditional friendship between China and Afghanistan, expand exchanges and cooperation on strengthening market supervision, improving the business environment, jointly building the "Belt and Road" and so on.  It was also hoped to promote the steady progress of economic and trade relations between the two countries, so that the both can benefit from it. 

  During the visit to Laos, Zhang Mao held talks with Somdy Douangdy , Laos Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Mrs. Manny Bencher, Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Ben Singnakuan, Director  of Luang Prabang Trade and Industry Office. They Signed a memorandum of understanding on business registration, service for small and micro enterprises, consumer rights protection and e-commerce in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos. Zhang Mao said that Laos is an important country along the “Belt and Road”. The comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Laos is expanding nowadays. It is hoped that the two sides will sign the memorandum as an opportunity to establish a mechanism for cooperation, promote information connectivity and advance pragmatic cooperation in the areas of registration, e-commerce, consumer protection and services for small and micro enterprises in order to make the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to enter a new stage. 

  During the visit to Mongolia, Zhang Mao held talks with U.Enkhtuvshin, Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister and Lerat Sekgowa, Mongolian Director of Competition and Consumer Protection. On the meeting, they signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in competition with the Mongolian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency. Zhang Mao said that the economic and trade cooperation between China and Mongolia is developing rapidly. He hope that the two sides will consolidate and develop good exchanges and cooperation within the framework of existing cooperation, work together to maintain a fair competition order, jointly protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and create good environment for economic development for the two countries.
