At the end of April, Dong Lequn, Deputy Director of Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’ Republic of China, led a delegation to visit the United States and Cuba, visiting departments and institutions such as American National Standards Institute ( ANSI ), ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB),Underwriter Laboratories (UL),Oficina Nacionalde Normalización ( ONN ), Cuban National Accreditation Administration (ON ARC), and Cuban foreign trade and foreign investment department Ministerio del Comercio Exterior y la Inversion Extranjera (MINCEX) and made further investigation.

The two sides had extensive and further exchanges on issues including legislation and cooperation in technology and standardization in the field of certification and accreditation, inspection and testing, and discussed how to strengthen cooperation between China and the United States, between China and Cuba in terms of conformity assessment legislation and standards formulation. While getting to know their conformity assessment system, we also introduced China's conformity assessment system to foreign countries, which expanded the international influence of China's certification and accreditation system and preliminary established contact with Cuba's National Accreditation Body and its competent authorities.

The delegation also visited the Cuban General Administration of Customs (AGR) and exchanged views on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on strengthening cooperation in the domestication and application of quarantine dogs between China and Cuba, and on the use of three SN standards, such as part 1 of the quarantine dog application and management norms: selection of quarantine dogs for training (Sn/T4882.1-3). The three standards formulated by CNCA and the quarantine dog application and management manual (nine norms) have been fully recognized and appreciated by Cuba, and we hope to continue our cooperation in the future.
