AQSIQ Vice Minister Sun Dawei attended the 27th China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) held in the United States and led a delegation to Mexico from November 19 to 28, 2016. While in Washington D.C., together with the United States Department of Agriculture, Sun Dawei and the delegation convened the JCCT/SPS working group meeting and signed the cooperation arrangement on bilateral e-certification cooperation. While in Mexico, Sun Dawei and his delegation visited the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economics, exchanged views on inspection and quarantine access issues of food and agriculture products, bilateral cooperation regarding national quality infrastructure (NQI) and the protection of geographical indication products, and signed the protocol on phytosanitary requirements of blueberry to be exported from Mexico to China.
The delegation consists of officials from Department of Supervision on Animal and Plant Quarantine, Import and Export Food Safety Bureau, and Department of International Cooperation of AQSIQ.
