On September 20th, CNCA, GAA(Global Aquaculture Alliance), CIQA(China Entry&Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association) and Seafood HACCP(Seafood HACCP Alliance，SHA) signed the Memorandum of Cooperation for Partner Project of the International Seafood Qualify Security and Certification. Deputy Director Mr. Liu Weijun on behalf of the CNCA attended the signing ceremony and signed the Memorandum of Cooperation.
The four counterparts unanimously agreed to introduce the advanced international standards and certification systems to China and incorporate BAP from GAA with HACCP and GAP from China to improve quality of Sino-US seafood, promote export and adapt to different market demands and regulations from FDA.
The US FDA officials witnessed the signing ceremony and indicated that the Chinese government, non-government organizations and enterprises will push forward and adopt stricter standards to benefit the FDA and US consumers. Also FDA will actively participate in the project and discuss the possibilities of GAP and GAA certification approval.
